Drive Test Q & A:

 

Q: OFFICE HOURS: I see my test is after (or before) your office closes. Is this correct?

A: We still offer tests outside of office hours. If you scheduled your test before or after our office hours, you will still test even if our office staff is not in the office. Please wait at the entrance if the door is locked.

Q: Can I take my drive test before I turn 16 years old?
A: No, it is a DMV rule that you can't take the drive test even a day before your 16th birthday.
 
Q: Where do I find my Oregon Customer Number?
A: Your Oregon Customer Number is your Oregon permit number, Oregon State ID number, or the number found on your knowledge test receipt across from your name. See image below.

Q:What form of ID can I use for my drive test?

A: You can find that information under our Terms & Conditions.

Q: What does the test fee cover?
A: The cost covers ONE drive test. If you fail your test, you'll need to schedule a new appointment and pay again. When you pass, you'll need to go to the DMV after and pay their licensing fee to be issued your license.

Q: Can I use a S.O.D.E. Inc. vehicle for my Drive Test?
A: Yes, our company vehicles are always ready for a customer to use during their Drive Test at no additional charge. Our vehicles are automatic 4 door sedans (such as Toyota Camry and Ford Fusion)

Q: What is on the Drive Test?
A: Everything in the Oregon Driver Manual is potentially on the test. We are not permitted to discuss what is on the test.


Q: What do I need to do to use my own vehicle?
A: To use a personal vehicle you'll need the valid registration and current insurance for that vehicle. This info doesn't have to be in the name of the person taking the test. Make sure to bring the registration and insurance inside when you arrive for your appointment along with your photo ID. 

Q: How long does the drive test appointment take?
A: The appointment is scheduled for 30 mins plus we require that you arrive 10 mins early. So plan on 40 mins total. Times very depending on the location you're testing at. Bigger cities will take longer. Roseburg is scheduled for 40 mins.

Q: Do I have to have to take the knowledge test before I take the drive test?

A: If you are under the age of 18 you must have a valid Oregon permit. If you are over the age of 18, you must have one or the other.

Q: What if I am required to use IID (Ignition Interlock Device) in order to drive?

A: You are still able to take the drive test but, you will have to use your personal car in order to take the test.  â€‹

Driver Education Q & A:

Q: Why is the price different for students 18+ years old OR already licensed?
A: Our Driver Education Course is actually $760. The State of Oregon give us a $210 grant for each student who passes who is under the age of 18. We pass that savings on to our customers who are under 18, making the course only $550 for 15-17 years old.

Q: How many lessons am I required to take?
A: Oregon does not have a requirement on taking Driver Education. It is up to you how many lessons you would like to take.
